Parents and Students,

What a wild start to November! Rain, cool temperatures, awards assembly, book fair, field trips, …and so much more. The students and staff are definitely busy, busy, busy, and we keep our parents busy too! Thank you for all that you do to support our campus learning and happenings!

We managed to keep the book fair one and half more days, through Nov. 11th (until Noon). Please stop by and check out all the great books, and don’t forget to let our Veteran’s know about the event too. It will be open after the Veteran’s Day Parade.

We are exciting about the Veteran’s Day Parade! Thank you for serving our country and we are proud to recognize all of our soldiers that have T.H.E. Connections. Here’s to Tuesday!

We are also hosting another big event this week, PAWSitive Dog Leadership Event, November 13th at 5pm. We will have WatchDOGS grilling hot dogs and we are asking students to bring pet food donations to help support our community serve project for this event. Student leaders will be prepared to teach you the Covey Way starting at 6pm in the classroom areas. We hope you will come, eat, learn, and have a “Dog-gone Good” Time with us.

Thank you,

Tara Bailey

Field Day Date Change and Book Fair Extension

11/7/2014

Parents,

Due to the amount of rain we have received, the field is soaked and the idea of securing inflatables in the ground has brought about concerns for us. Therefore, we are pushing the Field Day Festivities to November 11th. We will begin immediately following our Veteran's Day celebration.

In order to give parents and students more time with the book fair, Scholastic has approved for us to keep the book fair through noon Tuesday, November 11th. So, our Veterans can shop too!!!

Thank you for letting your family know the changes and we appreciate your understanding as well as flexibility!

*Don't forget our Leadership Night for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades Thursday, November 13th. Flyer coming home today!

Thank  you,
Tara Bailey

We are no longer on Soft Lockdown!

11/4/2014

Parents,

We have stopped the soft lockdown for our campus. It was reported that the fugitive has been apprehended. At this time, I do not have any details, but we wanted to take this as an opportunity to educate and practice the specific details of a soft lockdown with our students.

Thank you for understanding and your patience as we do our best to ensure and educate safety at T.H.E.

Thank you,
Tara Bailey

Soft Lockdown Called

11/3/2014

Parents,

In the Wilderness Oak/Stone Oak area, there is a fugitive with a weapon and it was reported those scshools are on HARD LOCKDOWN. Since we are close to these two campuses, we have called a SOFT LOCKDOWN. Our students are allowed to move about the building, but we are not allowing outdoor activities (exterior doors will be locked and monitored).

Thank you for understanding that we are only being PROACTIVE and this is excellent practice for our students in the event it happens specifically to our campus.

Thank you,
Tara Bailey
