Message from PTA

Our Teachers and Staff play a key role in student success and sometimes a simple “THANKS” is all a

teacher needs to feel valued. During this first week of May, we are taking the time to celebrate your students’

teachers for all their hard work and dedication throughout the school year.

At Tuscany Heights our PTA has put together a fun list to allow the students a unique way to say thank you. The

list provided outlines our school themed ideas only, and you do not have to participate if you

have other ways in mind to thank your teacher during this week.

If you want to participate in these daily activities and are curious about

the “likes” of your teachers and staff, then check out their “Faculty Favorites”

located at www.tuscanyheightspta.org; choose the helpful links tab, and where it states

“HERE A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS,”

you will learn tons about your students’ teachers and all T.H.E. staff!

Let’s make this a memorable time for the teachers, staff and students this week.

Thank you parents for all you do for our staff and your children.

Our school would not be a success without you too!

THE Family Impacted by the Weather

4/25/2015

Parents,

I am sure that many of you are aware or have already been part of touching the lives of one of our families impacted by the recent weather. The bad weather led to a devastating situation that left them without their home. I received this blurb and permission from the family to send this message. I am so appreciative to be part of such an amazing community that wraps their arms around those in need. THank you for reaching out to this family in a way that you feel is best! Tara Bailey

"A Tuscany Heights Family suffered a devastating loss early Friday morning.  Around 5:45 AM,  lightning struck the home of the Castruccio Family, sparking a fire.  The parents, youngest daughter and a friend, also a THE student, were home at the time.  They acted smartly and bravely, getting out of the house as soon as they saw smoke.  All are safe and well.  At this point, the house appears to be a total loss.  The family would like to express its most sincere gratitude for the outpouring of support from their neighbors, friends, complete strangers, and the Tuscany Heights Elementary family.  They are moved beyond words at the generosity and kindness they are experiencing from this community.  The family will be staying nearby in a residential home.  They are  on their way to establishing slowly the "things" lost and recognize the most important thing is that no one was injured in the fire.   There is a relief effort underway to help this awesome Tuscany Heights Family get back on its feet at

Parents and Students,

We have STAAR State Assessments for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students this week (see calendar below); therefore, our campus will be CLOSED to visitors to provide a safe, secure, and quiet learning environment for our students. We took a moment to celebrate all of their hard work and help relax them this past Friday with a short pep rally. We are very proud of them and want them to all know, they are ready for this moment. This is one moment for them to show all that they have learned this far and to go into the next few weeks of school gaining more knowledge. I use the example of sports! Just like in a big game or competition, we tell them to do their best showing all their skills. This isn’t any different for them. We want them to do their best and move forward with all the other skills we are prepared to teach them.

We ask that you help us remind them to be proactive by getting plenty of sleep, eating a good breakfast, and sharpening their saw as always!

Our staff put together a fun, light-hearted video for our students. We shared this with them at the pep rally. You can view it at
https://youtu.be/Ss5wBYmWdUU .

Thank you,

Tara Bailey
