Early Dismissal this week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, all students will be released at 12:40pm so that students and teachers can host student-led conferences. If you haven’t signed up for a conference with your child’s teacher, please contact them for a date and time. This is an opportunity for your child to share their own personal growth with their goals.
Thank you for our wonderful clean-up crew that came out Sunday, Feb. 22nd to prepare our campus for the upcoming Run for the Heights Event. As always, we appreciate the pride our community takes in our school. Thank you! We hope to see you at our Run for the Heights Event.
I have attached the Alamo Toyota Nomination Form and ask that you take time to nominate our awesome teachers. They are dedicated and go above and beyond for your children. I am proud to be their principal and enjoy seeing their passion and dedication every day. Thank you for taking the time to consider submitting a THE Teacher.
Johnson High School will be hosting a cheer clinic if your family is interested, I have attached the flyer. This clinic; however, falls on the same date as our Run for the Heights. We would love for you to support our campus and the wellness opportunities attached.

Nurse Notes
Continue to practice good hygiene techniques and hand washing. The Flu, as well as other illness, is still hanging around. Protecting yourself is the same for exposures. Remember “COUGH OR SNEEZE, ELBOW PLEASE”.
March 6th, we will sponsor Dr. Mari-Ellen Torres of Kids World Dentistry. She will do a visual screening of 3rd grade students and you will receive the results of her screen from our clinic. Remind our students to practice good dental hygiene and lets all:
“Brush two minutes, two times a day.
Clean between your teeth daily.
Limit snacks, eat healthy snacks.
Visit your dentist regularly.”

Driving Education to the Top Award – Kidsville News
It is that time of the year when we are looking for teacher nominations for the Driving Education To The Top Award sponsored by Alamo Toyota. The first place teacher will receive a field trip for his or her class and $1,000 for the teacher. The more creative one gets or the more we hear about a teacher from students and parents, to even nominations from Principals, the more of an impact it makes for a teacher to stand out. Kidsville News will be recognizing an additional 5 teachers who will receive a plaque, recognition in Kidsville News and some wonderful gifts. This is the third year of this great teacher recognition program. The deadline is March 31. See attached form for nominations that can be passed on. - Gina Barbera, Kidsville News

PTA opportunities
If you’ve been waiting to settle in to the new school year before getting involved, or maybe you’re new to our campus, wait no longer! PTA could still use your help! We’re a fun, supportive group who love making a difference on our campus, and we’re looking for volunteers to fill the following chairs:
Cafeteria – Legislative Action
Due to a family’s relocation we will be looking to fill our position of Parliamentarian at our next Executive Board meeting.
We’re also looking for a volunteer to help with Spring pictures in April. If you would like more information or have any questions about any of the volunteer opportunities please don’t hesitate to ask. I’d be happy to visit with you.
