want to make sure that you are informed of a few things that are happening at
T.H.E. This particular eBlast is to inform you that our KINS Program will have a
firetruck here to visit our students after school, Nov. 21st. I didn't want
anyone to see or hear the firetruck and be alarmed. It is a routine visit for
our students!

Don't forget to order your Winter Tiger Spirit Gear by this Friday, November 22nd! 

Order forms were sent home in backpacks last Friday or you can go to www.tuscanyheightspta.org to order online. This year, in addition to a super cute long sleeve t-shirt, we also got in on the sock craze! We now have custom Tuscany Heights socks for boys and girls!

Please note that t-shirts are pre-order only. Since we will not be ordering extra shirts, please check the sample shirts available in the front office to make sure you order the correct size for your student. Extra order forms are also available in the front office. If you have any questions, please email Stacy Shults, PTA Spirit Chair, at [email protected] We will deliver orders before the Winter Break.

Parents,

We had a fabulous celebration this past week for our Veterans!!  Thank you to our veterans, families, PTA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Staff, and Students for making this an honorable time!  Thank you!

On another note, we have a GO PUBLIC FLAG flying high with our American and Texas Flags.NEISD along with 14 other area school districts will be taking part in the "Go Public campaign to generate better awareness of the facts about Bexar County's independent public school districts and the wonderful, life-changing things that happen in our schools ever day".  They want the community to know more about the amazing things our schools do for the community.  For more information, visit the WeGoPublic.com.

Middle School Boundary Information

 “We have received so much helpful feedback from our two boundary meetings and our first two meetings with the PTA. We appreciate your attendance and comments at those meetings and we also thank many of you who have communicated your thoughts via email. We continue to welcome any additional comments at[email protected]. We appreciate so many of you taking the time to weigh in on the options presented. As the district continues to review your suggestions, we have determined a third boundary meeting that was set for November 19th, 2013 will not be necessary. Staff is working to prepare a recommendation to be presented to the Board of Trustees in December. Please continue to monitor this website for further updates.” - NEISD

Please be aware that speeding and texting in a school zone is a fine. We’ve had several reports and obviously, I think about the safety of our children. They are irreplaceable!!!!

Book Drive (Exchange) for Sister School

We collected books last year through the winter break that some of our students delivered to our sister school. The staff and students would like to make this a tradition rather than exchanging with classmates. The spirit of giving! We will begin this after the Thanksgiving Break! More details to come.

Hey Tuscany Tigers! We need YOU!…..Let’s Help our Sister School in a Grand Way! Please donate can goods or non-perishable food all next week, November 18th-22nd. You may place all food items in the gray tub labeled "Sister School" as you walk into the school!  Also, our annual Sister School Toy Drive starts Dec. 2nd, so get ready to donate toys to kids at Terrell Hills. Thanks for making a difference!

Eat for a Cause at Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, Nov. 20th & Nov. 21st: Raising Cane's is helping Tuscany RAISE funds for our school! Join other Tuscany families from 5-8 PM at Cane's on 19110 Stone Oak Parkway and support Tuscany Heights. Cane's will donate 15% of proceeds to our school. 

Lost & Found items are located on the stage in the cafeteria: If you are missing a jacket, lunchbox, or another item, please check the stage area to claim your item. Don't forget to put your child's name on all items-items with names are shown on announcements each morning for students to retrieve. All items not claimed by Dec. 20th at 3 PM will be donated to Sister School! Any questions, please contact Jazmin Phelps, [email protected]

Tigers Synergize-Community Service and PVSA (Presidential Volunteer Service Award): We want all of our students to have opportunities to volunteer and earn a President's Volunteer Service Award at the PVSA  Awards Reception, May 21st. Also, all Tigers who volunteer 10 hours will receive a special spirit stick in May. Be looking for opportunities at Tuscany for kids to volunteer and give back to our community. Camouflage Day, Nov. 11th!!!
 
We are celebrating 75 Veterans tomorrow morning! Please be aware that this is an RSVP event for our Veterans as well as a celebration that our students are taking part in honoring our special service men and women. We will have limited seating for all other guests hoping to attend. My apologies in advance for this as I would love to have all families present to take part in this honorable celebration. 

Beginning at 8:15 a.m., we will serve coffee and cards to all Veterans. Then, following the cafeteria ceremony, we will serve breakfast to the Veterans and their students that will introduce them at the ceremony. 
Thank you to all that serve our country! You are HEROES!!!!

 ** Also, attached you will find a race registration from one of our cluster high schools, Reagan HS.

Reagan Band 5k Run/Walk

Parents,

All students are asked to wear CAMOUFLAGE in honor of our Heroes!!!!

We are pleased to announce that we are honoring about 75 Veterans on Monday, November 11th, 8:30 a.m. Since we have a large list and about 885 students (plus staff), we will have a packed cafeteria come Monday morning. I wish we had space to hold all of our families, but please know that this is impossible. We plan to do our best to recognize those that have RSVPed at this point while including all Tuscany Heights Students in the celebration. We want them to understand the sacrifice that our Veterans have given. If you are attending along with a Veteran, we will have limited seating around the perimeter of the cafeteria walls. You will need to check in for a RAPTOR Badge and will be sent back around 8:20 for seating. Again, it is limited and I apologize ahead of time if there are no seats available.

We also have T.H.E. & our T.H.E.'s PTA providing breakfast for Veterans and their students only! This will immediately follow the ceremony in the library.

We are grateful that this is turning out to be a very inspiring celebration!

Parents,

Tomorrow is the character parade for Tuscany Heights' staff and students. If you do not wish for your students to
participate, please send back the letter or a hand written note to your child's teacher. We will find a location for them to be seated during the festivities. Otherwise, all students will walk in the parade route dressed like a character or not. Ensure that students have their book along with an appropriate costume (Meeting NEISD's dress code policy). No weapons, please.

The office will close periodically until after the parade route is finished. All parents wanting to view the parade can be stationed outdoors along the sidewalk. All students will exit the building by the 2nd grade area and walk along the front of the building and re-enter the building around the gym area.

We look forward to seeing all of the characters tomorrow to kick off our READ AROUND THE SCHOOL rotations!
