Once school gets further into session, you can expect one weekly email from me with an occasional in between eBlast. My apologies if any of these come as an inconvenience, but we want our community well informed.
Walking Students to Class, Aug. 28th
Starting Tomorrow, Thursday, August 28th- If parents want to walk their children to class, you will need to sign in and receive a RAPTOR Badge from the front office. We encourage you to allow your children to be leaders and walk themselves to class. We have so many just waiting to be their own leader and to lead others! It is great to see them helping each other in the hallways. We will also have staff throughout the building helping our students. If you are car riders, we have patrols willing to walk our little ones or new students into the building and help them find their classrooms as well. Thank you for helping us build leaders and reach our leadership goal!
National College Colors Day, Aug. 29th
Friday, August 29th- National College Colors Day: Have your students show off your college colors as parents or show their favorite colors to inspire them to lead by example! We look forward to a hallway full of color!
Bike Racks
All of our bike racks are located by the basketball courts. Although this is an ideal location for some, it is not for all. We will be checking into having some placed closer to the gyms and/or close to the front entrance.
Leadership Pep Rally/PTA General Meeting, Sept. 2nd
We are excited to embark on another year of leadership with a new goal and the anticipation of reaching lighthouse status for our school. Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, we will have a school wide/community pep rally for our students. You will be entertained by the Reagan and Johnson Cheerleaders as well as some of our staff members. It should be quite the show! We will kick off the pep rally about 5:30 with dinner. We will sell pizza ($1.00 a slice) and bottles of water for $1.00. Please join us for dinner, entertainment, and our PTA General Meeting. This is a great time for our students, parents, and staff to come together as a family and promote leadership.
Grandparents Day Celebration, Sept. 5th
We look forward to welcoming all grandparents! Please make sure that we know if your parents (grandparents) are attending. If they have been here, we can pre-print a RAPTOR Badge and save time in the office line. This is a time for many visitors; therefore, we want to be extremely careful with security in case someone else tried to access the building. If grandparents are from out of town, we will need to RAPTOR them before entering the school. I suggest coming early just to avoid any delays.
