Thank you for a great week back! Please notice the upcoming events as we will begin STAAR Testing for some of our grade levels. STAAR days are starting at the end of March this year and those days the campus will be closed to visitors in order to keep a quiet and secure testing environment for our students. We appreciate your support with these dates!
We are collecting money for March of Dimes. If you wish to send money or drop of coins, please do so by sending it to the front office. Thank you!
An updated parking lot map has been attached as well. Thank you again for always considering safe practices for our students.
Thank you,
Tara Bailey

North East ISD is hosting Girls Inc. Science Festival at Hero’s stadium on May 2nd from 10-2. http://www.girlsincsa.com/index.php/girls-inc-rockit-into-the-future-science-festival-2015/girls-inc-rockit-into-the-future-science-festival-2015-3163/
The festival is a family-friendly event featuring hands-on science activities and workshops to encourage girls ages 6 to 18 to participate in STEM by exploring, asking questions and solving problems at festival activity booths.
Research suggests that girls are less likely to pursue a career in math, science and technology. Research also demonstrates that parents, teachers and other adults typically do not expect girls to perform as well as boys in science, math and related subjects, regardless of their true potential or demonstrated ability. However, Girls Inc. knows that girls can be the next astronaut, mathematician, medical researcher, ground breaking petroleum engineer and more than we can imagine!
We believe that girls deserve a supportive and experiential environment where they feel invited and encouraged to join the fun of discovering the world around them and where they can prove to themselves that they do like and can be good at science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); it’s essential to girls persisting in STEM education and preparing for lucrative STEM careers that most of them would otherwise never consider. Our annual Girls Inc. RockIt Into the Future Science Festival is exactly that – it’s a positive and encouraging environment that develops girls’ enthusiasm for STEM by providing a variety of hands-on, mind-on activities and opportunities for girls and their families to interact with women and men in STEM fields.
News from Bush Middle School (attached flyer):
Dear Future Bush Bulldogs,
It's that time of year where we begin the process of selecting our Bush Middle School PTA Officers and Committee Chairs for the next school year. The nominating committee, which was elected by the PTA membership at our February meeting, is charged with presenting to the membership their recommended slate of officers at the April general PTA meeting.
If you are interested in serving in one of the Officer or Committee Chair positions, please complete the attached form and return to Vikki Koveck (Nominating Committee Chair) at [email protected] by March 27th. You may also leave it at the Front Office at Bush Middle School. Also, if you are interested in finding out more about the positions and what they entail, please don't hesitate to email me.
Sincerely,
Bush PTA

NEISD Used Book Sale Donation Drive – collecting through Thursday, April 2nd
The NEISD Used Book Sale is coming up the weekend of April 10th - 12th. Tuscany Heights PTA will be collecting books throughout the month of March (which also happens to be the month that Dr. Seuss was born back in 1904!). Every child who donates will be given a Dr. Seuss spirit stick. The top 20 donators in the school will be given a gift certificate to the Scholastic Book Fair in May. If we can reach a school-wide participation goal of 25%, Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. McCurry have agreed to spend a day dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2. So help us reach our goals, and clean off those bookshelves! Watch for a flyer to come home with your child with the details.
5th grade students – 5th grade spirit is popping up all over campus. Don’t forget to make your mark by showing off your 5th grade spirit shirt on WILD Wednesday!
