Parents & Students,
We are excited to welcome you all to August 2014. We hope that you have enjoyed your summer and take time to enjoy the last few weeks before we dive back into working hard on education.
We have missed the laughter and inquiring minds of our students, but we have all enjoyed our families as well.
A few things...
Wednesday, August 6th: SCHOOL IS CLOSED. NO REGISTRATION HERE. We will experience a power outage this day that will potentially last 5-6 hours. CPS needs to cut the power so that district employees can replace our chiller breakers. We will resume regular schedule Thursday. Our office will be at Canyon Ridge working; however, it may be difficult to register off campus. Please share with friends and neighbors that you know may be hoping to register.
All class rosters are in the process of being created. Our teachers are preparing a video to send out via email to all parents and students once the lists are final, August 15th. Please be prepared to receive your child's information via email on this particular day. Now, it is possible with everyone sending emails that you may get one in the morning or in the afternoon. If you do not receive this information, please know that we can help you in the office on Monday, August 18th. We are giving the teachers time to share their individualized videos with their families. This gives you and your child an opportunity to see your teacher before you arrive. I know the students are just as excited as our teachers!
Our teachers are also anxiously preparing their classrooms for Meet the Teacher/Orientation Night. Yes, they are already starting. Official return time for staff will be August 18th. This is a week packed full of training and room preparation!
3rd, 4th, & 5th Grades: Meet the Teacher/Orientation- August 19th (3rd- 5:00, 4th- 6:00, 5th-7:00)
Kinder, 1st, & 2nd Grades: Meet the Teacher/Orientation- August 21st (Kinder- 5:00, 1st-6:00, 2nd- 7:00)
Also, I wanted to share some information about the Target REDcard. It was a surprise this past year, but we received several checks from Target because of parent shoppers indicating Tuscany as their school. See below...
