Parents,
Thank you for your generous donations with greenbacks! We have collected $7,500 so far this year! PJ Day was a hit!!!
We are experiencing some difficulty at the traffic light in the afternoons during dismissal. For the families making a left turn into the school dismissal lane, we are realizing that one or two cars turn on the green light. This creates a longer wait for these families in comparison to those turning right into the school lane. We have found that the camera that detects traffic and assists with the light color changes is broken. We are working on getting this corrected as soon as possible. In the meantime, families please be considerate of those waiting longer periods of time and allow them to turn if possible. I do appreciate you all looking out for each other to make it a smooth dismissal!
On a bus note, please remind students to wait until buses (or any vehicle) has come to a complete stop before approaching. We had a situation this week that scared us with a student walking out in front of a bus before it stopped. No one was hurt, but it certainly needs to be sent as a reminder. Please wait until all vehicles make a complete stop. Thank you for talking to your students.
As always, we appreciate the team effort of our staff, students, and parents! Thank you for always going the extra mile to make this a great school!
Thank you,
Tara Bailey

Clinic Reminders
Students are not allowed to carry medication to or from school; nor are the students to have it on them while at school, including cough drops. If your child needs any medication, please stop by the clinic to ensure the proper steps are taken.
Please notify the clinic if your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness like strep throat, etc.
Breakfast Reminder
If your child is planning to eat breakfast in the cafeteria, please have them here no later than 7:30 am so they have plenty of time to eat. Teachers pick up students at 7:35 a.m. to escort them to class. Morning announcements begin at 7:40a.m.

Sign up to be a Hero of the Hallway! Dads, uncles, granddads, step-dads—Tuscany Heights needs you to continue making an impact this school year! Last December, a Tuscany Heights Watch DOG stated: “I did not realize what an impact fathers could have on the school grounds. The look on my daughter's face and her discussion when she came home from school was a true blessing. I hope more fathers sign up because the kids really appreciate us being there.”
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is an innovative program that enables fathers and father-figures to be a positive male role model and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears at Tuscany Heights Elementary School.
There are many available days this school year for T.H.E. fathers to serve as a Watch DOG. If you have not been a Watch DOG yet, now is the time to sign up! If you served as a Watch DOG last year, please consider returning for another day! To view available days, go to www.tuscanyheightspta.org/watch-dogs.html
Contact the Watch D.O.G.S. coordinators at [email protected] to request information on how to sign up for your day of service. You will be able to view a presentation about the program, ask questions, order your official Watch D.O.G.S. t-shirt, then allow you to register and pick your day to be the "Hero of the Hallway."
Please note that for the safety of our children and staff, you must complete the NEISD Criminal Background Check (a.k.a. "DPS Clearance") in order to volunteer. To begin the application, go tohttps://portal.neisd.net/vchrc/.
