May 20-24, 2013
Parents,
Congrats to our T.H.E. Track and Field Students! They brought back 60 Blue Ribbons, 20 Red Ribbons, 6 Yellow Ribbons, and 2 Green Ribbons! We are so proud of them as well as Mrs. Fields and Mrs. Burges.
We are rounding the corner to the end of the school year! It always excites us about the summer possibilities, but it also saddens us to be without our students for any period of time. We appreciate your help working with us to finalize the end of the school year with your children.
Cafeteria Negative Balance Procedures are district wide and only implemented this time of year to reduce negative balances before the end of the school year. Please know that we are working with our cafeteria to do everything we can to implement it. We appreciate your help in clearing up any negative balances for June 6th!
Thank you,
Tara Bailey

T.H.E. Talent Days
Talent Days at Tuscany Heights!
Back by popular demand, Tuscany Heights’ Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Students will show their talent on Thursday, May 23rd and Friday, May 24th in Mrs. Burges’ gym. In response to student requests, students have the opportunity to show off their talent in front of their peers. Parents are welcome too! Students who expressed interest during their music class were given a talent day form to fill out. Students who returned the form completely filled out and by the due date (May 10, 2013) have been asked to perform during our talent days. Reminder notes were sent home on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Students will perform during their specials time. All students who are performing must come prepared to perform on their assigned day and time.
Fourth Grade – 7:55-8:45a.m.
Third Grade – 12:45-1:35p.m.
Fifth Grade - 1:35-2:25p.m.
The END OF THE YEAR Procedure-
Please be aware that NEISD will implement a cafeteria change on May 13, 2013. Students with negative cafeteria balances will no longer be allowed to charge meals. If students have negative balances, they will be given a peanut butter or cheese sandwich for lunch. Charges will be allowed again in the fall!
From the School Nurse
On or before the last day of school, please pick up your child’s medication. The medication cannot be sent home with your child. No exceptions to this procedure will be made. Any medication not picked up by the last day of school will be properly disposed of by Health Services if other arrangements have not been made. Should other arrangements be necessary, please contact the school nurse.
If your child will require medication at school next year, it must be brought to school by an adult.
North East Independent School District policy prohibits students from transporting medication to and from school. All medication must be in the current and properly labeled prescription or medication container. Medication administered at school must be accompanied by the district’s Medication Administration Request Form. This form authorizes school personnel to administer prescribed daily or as needed medication and must be signed by you and your child’s physician. This form is available from your school nurse or from the NEISD Health Services web page (Medication Forms).
We want all students to know the proper use of medication and that misuse of any medication can have potentially serious consequences. All prescription medications and over the counter medications must be treated carefully and cautiously. Your student’s safety is our priority.
Thank you very much for your cooperation in this matter. If you have a question regarding medication for next year or picking up the medication at the end of this year, please call your school nurse.
