What is the Team Up Challenge?
The Team Up Challenge is a Silver & Black Give Back’s program that empowers students to change the world! Through community development and problem solving, students learn civic responsibility with the support of our Spurs Sports & Entertainment family. Through these student-led programs, youth are empowered to change the world, starting right here in San Antonio. Students identify a need and work to create solutions for needs in one of five categories: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Health & Wellness, or Uniformed Services.
Who is Eligible to Participate in the Team Up Challenge?
Applications may be submitted by K-12 public, private, or charter school students, teachers or nonprofit leaders in the greater San Antonio area. Projects are to be youth-led and focused on community development, volunteerism and problem solving. The more youth and community involvement, the better!
What role does Silver & Black Give Back play?
This year Silver & Black Give Back has $250,000 to invest in Team Up Challenge projects. Our Jr. and Executive Review committees will provide funding to selected projects based on the strength their application. In addition to funding, throughout the year Silver & Black Give Back provides support for the projects through various promotions, trainings, in-game experiences, mascot appearances, player activities and more.
