Wear your BLUE tomorrow to promote Anti- Bullying! The month of October has lots of meaning, but one very special stance we like to take this month is against bullies. Monday, October 6th is BLUE Shirt day to signify your VOICE (New Covey Habit 8: Find Your Voice). Thank you for helping us take a stand.
On Tuesday, October 7th, we will celebrate again with an Anti-Bully Talk from our counselors while also participating in Family Fitness Rotations. See attached flyer, but I hope that you and your family will join us for a night of wellness, both physical and mental fitness.
October 10th: EARLY DISMISSAL (This day is held earlier this year while the other two early dismissal days will be in November. Please ensure your children have transportation arrangements for this day.) There will not be parent conferences planned for this day. It is a district wide “Teacher Planning/Collaboration Day” as outlined in our NEISD Transformation Plan.
October 15th, we are expecting a pre-visit from a Covey Leader to take a look at our school environment, talking to staff and students, and visiting classrooms. He will be giving us feedback as we move forward to become a lighthouse school. For us, we care more about the leadership we are building than the status and will continue to take as long as we need to, to ensure student leaders remains our focus. Thank you for all of your help supporting leadership and helping make our school look/feel great!

Honorary Texas PTA Life Membership Award - An Honorary Texas Life Membership is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual by the Texas PTA for outstanding contributions to the well being of children and youth. If you know someone who has gone the “extra mile” for our children, is a valuable volunteer, is an exceptional teacher, dedicated to education, is an outstanding staff member, or is a Community Member who shares his/her resources and expertise for the benefit of all children, then please consider nominating this individual for this very special award.
