November 3, 2013
Parents,
This week is early dismissal on Nov. 5th, 6th, & 7th! Our teachers will be conferencing with parents about student progress/performance. If you haven’t signed up for a conference with your child’s teacher or previously met with them, please take an opportunity to reach out for a time to meet with them. This communication and collaboration is critical in the success of our students!
Nov. 8th will be CHARACTER PARADE/READ AROUND THE SCHOOL! Please send your child in their favorite book character to school with a change of clothes if necessary. We will begin our parade shortly after announcements. It will start in the building by picking up each grade level and will make a complete circle while passing by the front of the school. We will exit by the 2nd grade hallway and loop around to the front sidewalk to then enter by the gym area. If you would like to see all the characters, please line the front sidewalk area (both sides). You will be sure to see all staff and students that are walking. *** If you do not want your child to participate, please let your teacher know ASAP. We will have all students walk with us if they are not dressed so that they are not left unattended. Therefore, it is critical we know if you would rather your child not take part in our character event.
If you or a close family member to one of our students is a "VETERAN”, we would like to take the time to recognize them on November 11th. We are inviting our veterans to join us at Tuscany Heights Elementary at 8:30a.m. for a small service ceremony. Coffee will be served at 8:00 a.m. in the Library. We will have all students present and ask all veterans to be seated on the stage. From there, their students will introduce them; we will hear a special message from each grade level, and then closing remarks from administration. We will serve Hash browns for Heroes in the library following the ceremony. We ask all veterans and their students to join us there for a final "thank you" gesture for all the service you have provided for our country to honor us!
Please RSVP with the front office by Nov. 6th. Mrs. Jordan, djorda1@neisd.net , will keep a list of all veterans in order for us to best prepare for food and gifts.
Thank you,
Tara Bailey
