​Snack Drive
​February 27th - March 8th

Grandparents Day

We are collecting snacks to make snack packs for food insecure kids at Olmos Elementary. We will be collecting individually packaged portions of items from the list below. Collection bins will be in the front entrance and you are welcome to drop off items when you come Run For The Heights on Saturday, March 4th!  Let's synergize to get all the items we need!



Kinder: Single serve portions of ravioli (with pull top lids so no can opener is required)
1st grade: Snack size bags of Cheez-It type crackers
2nd grade: Snack size bags of pretzels
3rd grade: Fruit snacks
4th grade: Small bottles of water

5th grade: Single serve portions of ravioli (with pull top lids so no can opener is required)



We will have a service opportunity after school on Thursday, March 9th to assemble the snack packs. Stay tuned for more details!

Don't forget to keep doing the 28 day Activity Challenge! Any THE student who is registered and completes 21/28 of the daily challenges will gain exclusive access to the VIP Tiger tent! All forms need to be turned in by February 28th.

Grandparents Day

Bike drop-off/pick up information:
    - 
Available on Thursday evening, October 27th, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. 
    - Available 
on Friday morning, October 28th, from 7:00-7:45 a.m. 
​  
  - All bikes should be taken to Gym #1 in the back of the school. 
    - 
All bikes MUST be picked up by Friday afternoon.
    - You may also pick up your child’s bike after they participate in the Bike Rodeo.  
​    - Please label all bikes and helmets with your child’s name, grade, and teacher


Reminders for day of the bike rodeo:
   - Bike Rodeo spectators need to park in visitor parking and check in through the front office.
   - We will start with 5th grade, then kindergarten through 4th grade. We hope to end around 11:30 am.
   - Spirit shirts will be available for purchase the morning of Bike Rodeo. Cash, check, credit, and debit will be accepted.

All trophies will be given on the afternoon of October 30th.  The boy and girl winners from each grade level will receive an official invitation to the City Wide Bike Rodeo in the spring.

2016 Run For The Heights Early Bird Registration Contest

Check off another item on your to do list!
We have an Early Bird registration contest from August 18th-September 4th.

The FIRST 100 Tuscany Heights students to register by 9/4/15 will get a FREE “Go Tigers” drawstring backpack. We will also have 12 drawing prizes for the FIRST 100 adults who register by 9/4/15. Prize winners will be announced at the October General PTA Meeting and Run For The Heights Pep Rally!!!
 

Go ahead and register at Meet Teacher Night and take your backpack home with you!!!! Don't worry, all early bird registrations will count towards the incentive contests that will start in December.

Follow these 5 steps.....


Step 1:
Download the 28 Day Activity Challenge log.
​
​Step 2: Complete the activity of the day for 28 days (must begin by 1/25/16 to complete by 2/21/16)

Step 3: Register for the FUN RUN or 5K.

​Step 4: Have a parent sign that you completed the challenge and turn in the completed log between 2/22 - 2/24 in order to get your VIP wristband.

Step 5: Enjoy the VIP Tiger Arena with special snacks and activities on the day of the race.

RFTH Registration Contest

Keep bringing in those registrations!! Online registrations can be completed here and will count for the contest.

Student incentives include:

extra tech time in class 
a special lunch in the library

Class rewards include:

a bounce house during PE

The top 2 classes bringing in the most registrations will earn a brick building party from Bricks 4 Kidz!! 
RFTH Activity Challenge Contest

Would you like to see our principals run the Fun Run dressed as a Super Hero? Would you like to get prepared for the 5K?

You can do both by completing the 28 day Activity Challenge. If we have at least 350 T.H.E. students complete the daily activity log AND register for the Fun Run or 5K, then our principals will run the Fun Run dressed as Super Heroes!!! Let's synergize and reach our goal!!

Start Monday, Jan 26 in order to be finished by Feb 23. Turn in the completed forms to the front office.

4th Annual 

Run for the Heights

Thank you to all of our students, families, staff and Tuscany community for supporting our 4th Annual Run for the Heights 5K/Kids' Fun Run & Health Fair!  The weather was perfect, and we had almost 900 runners participate in the Fun Run and 5K.  Run for the Heights not only raised funds for the Tuscany Heights Elementary PTA, but helped promote health and wellness in the community!  Thanks to all who contributed to the success of the 4th Annual Run for the Heights!

We are collecting new and gently used school uniforms for East Terrell Hills Elementary school from August 21st to September 6th!  Bring your donations to the bins in the front of the school on Meet the Teacher Nights and receive a special spirit stick!  East Terrell Hills students need the following clothing items:

SHORTS, PANTS or SKIRTS
Khaki, black and navy blue
All sizes needed
Sizes 12 and up in high demand
POLO SHIRTS 
Navy blue, kelly/hunter green and white
Short or long-sleeved

Sister School Toy Drive

Part of our mission to assist our sister school,
East Terrell Hills Elementary, is to collect things they need.  In the spirit of giving this holiday season, we are pleased to announce our Sister School Toy Drive.  THE PTA will collect new, unwrapped toys November 26 - December 13.

Let's help our sister school, East Terrell Hills Elementary, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Please donate canned goods and non-perishable food items by November 22nd. Bring in your donations and place them in the gray "Sister School" tub located in the Tuscany Heights foyer.

Sister School Toy Drive
December 2nd - 13th

Part of our mission to assist our sister school, East Terrell Hills Elementary is to collect items they need. In the spirit of giving this holiday season, we are pleased to announce the Tiger Giving Tree.  If you would like to donate a special gift to an East Terrell Hills student, please select a "star" ornament from our Tiger Giving Tree in the THE library.  Purchase the item requested and return the wrapped gift with the "star" ornament attached. We will also be collecting toys for Toys for Tots!  Drop off all wrapped Giving Tree gifts and new unwrapped Toys for Tots gifts in the front foyer by Friday, December 13th.  Please contact Lori Martin at sisterschool@tuscanyheightspta.org with any questions.

Tuscany Heights Bike Rodeo

It's time to get your bikes ready and start practicing!  The Tuscany Heights PTA will host its annual Bike Rodeo on Friday, October 25th from 8:00am to 11:30am.  The Bike Rodeo is a fun bicycle safety and agility competition.  
All participants will receive a Bike Rodeo Spirit Stick and trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boy and girl winners of each grade level.  First place trophies will be awarded to one boy and one girl in the training wheels category.  All trophies will be given out at the end of the school day.  The boy and girl winner from each grade level will receive an official invitation to the City Wide Bike Rodeo in the Spring.  Grab your bike and helmet and start practicing your bike skills today!

     Bicycle Safety Assembly with SAPD Officer Keogh:  Monday, October 21st @  1:30pm
     Bicycle Drop-Off in Gym #1:  Thursday, October 24th, 4-6pm & Friday, October 25th, 7-7:45am
